Jessie + Justin | Captain Nickels Inn Wedding | Searsport, Maine

The entire Memorial Day Weekend was basically forecasted to be rain…BUT! Of course we had a few hours of clear weather just for Jessie and Justin’s special day. My favorite memory from the day is going to sound cheesy, but it really was how these two looked at each other. From the moment I arrived, there was this excitement in the air, and both of them had the biggest smiles for the few hours we were together. I can still hear Jessie giggling with glee, which would happen no less than every five minutes haha!

And how about this location!? Oh my word! It was such a pleasure to meet the owners and see the amazing work they’ve done to this historic location. I’ve always been enamored by it as I drive by, and so thankful to have now explored it in person! If you are looking to have you wedding in Maine at an inn by the ocean, look no further. The inside is just as beautiful as the outside!

I had so much fun with these two, and I hope you enjoy this short retelling of their wedding day!

-Ceremony-

It wasn’t until a few minutes before that ceremony that you could feel a bit of anxiousness, and Justin had the biggest grin as he waited for and then saw Jessie for the time! Lindsay Gannon of Officially Yours did a wonderful job performing the ceremony, and it was a beautiful sight to watch these two say their vows while trying not to tear up.

After the ceremony, we spent a little time exploring the property and taking some portraits!

A little mother and daughter fun, including a slightly unprovoked bouquet attack haha!

Justin has a reputation as a lover of cake. The joke was that was mostly why he showed up haha! It was time to head in for some quick toasts and the cake cutting before heading out for dinner!

Before parting ways for the evening, we swung by the Belfast Foot Bridge for a few more quick portraits!

Phillip and Kristen | French’s Point Wedding | Stockton Springs Photographer

What a perfect end to our wedding season! In what has arguably been the most difficult year in recent history for getting married, Phillip and Kristen pulled it off wonderfully. Not only did so much care go into everyone’s safety, but all who attended were tested for Covid ahead of time. When the day finally arrived, they were graced with the most amazing October weather one could ask for on the water at French’s Point. Plenty of excitement was in the air during the getting ready, and everyone was having a great time. I think Kristen’s mom and sister were just as excited as she was that the big day was here! Honestly, with over 1,300 photos in the full gallery, it’s pretty hard to summarize how great this day was in such short blog post. We had such a fantastic time capturing Kristen and Phil’s big day, and I hope you enjoy reliving some of their special day here!

Getting Ready

Abram the ringbearer was one of the standout memories of this wedding for me haha! This kid had some character and I got such a kick out of photos that I came across with him in them.

It was a lovely ceremony where they had written their own vows. Captain Ken Barnes officiated, and he’s one of my favorites! Being married over 50 years himself, he always guides the ceremony with class, charm, and a little humor.

I love this moment with Phillip and his mother…

Of course now with the parent dances over, it was time for Abram to tear up the dance floor! haha

It was about time for us to head home, but first… one final shot. I didn’t think a starry night shot would be likely due to it being a full moon, but low and behold, we just beat it as it started to rise on the horizon to the left! A few minutes later, and this shot wouldn’t have even worked. Perfect ending! Extra thanks to my friend and fellow vendor Jess of Jessica Riley Events for clearing all the chairs out of the background with Laureh for this shot. She did an awesome job planning and coordinating the day as well! If you’re in need of a talented and down to earth planner/coordinator, she’s the top choice!

So happy to work with these two to close out the 2020 wedding season
