Ian + Emily | 1774 Inn Wedding | Phippsburg, Maine Photographer

Ian and Emily are one of those couples with which I just instantly clicked. I had the pleasure of meeting up with Emily last year for coffee and we had a great time talking! Soon after, I met Ian at their engagement session and have been looking forward to their wedding ever since. These two are simply perfect together. It sounds cliche when couples are referred to as “best friends”, but it is so true here! It’s also a blast to capture them as it’s just non-stop joking around and laughter. You’ll see that laughter as a common thread throughout their wedding photos, which made me constantly grin when reviewing the images from the day. I’m so excited to share these photos from their awesome wedding day at The 1774 Inn and hope that you enjoy them as well! Thanks for coming!

Their wedding ceremony incorporated some amazing music by the Penobscot Bay Ringers, which is a bell choir that both Emily and her mother take part in! It was wonderful not just for the ceremony, but to enjoy as they practiced in the hours leading up the nuptials!

The dinner for the evening was provided by 111 Maine Catering and wow - everything about this dish was fantastic!

While the day was robbed of sunset with thick fog rolling in, it wasn’t going to stop us from getting some cool shots! After dark, we spent some time around this historic property, and used any space we could find! I especially love some of the final shots in the parlor, as we went for some more “old time” classic portraits!

Paul + Cristina | Starwood Drive| Moutain View at Trail's End | Newry, Maine Wedding Photographer

I always love to end up in the Newry/Bethel area every year for a wedding. The area is beautiful and can apparently be a perfect place to find a mate as well! Paul and Cristina met while on ski patrol together at Sunday River, so it only made sense to go back and celebrate their marriage there. It was a perfect late summer Saturday with blue skies and a slight fall chill in the air. The day began on Starwood Drive where they had rented a cabin for the weekend to spend time with friends and family, and to also be the setting for their lovely outdoor ceremony. Laureh and I had a great time capturing their day and I hope you enjoy reliving the day through the photos. Thanks for coming!

For the first look, we headed over to the White Cap Quad, a place where they have spent much time! As we waited for Cristina’s arrival, Paul discussed the time had he spent there and pointed out which trails he had worked on clearing and maintaining. It was a special spot for them to take some of the photos!

After the ceremony, we headed a couple miles down the road to the covered bridge in Newry, which is a great spot for some photographs!

With some downed trees, we had to get a little adventurous to get to the river bed under the bridge for a few more shots!

The rest of the evening would be spent at the base of Sunday River at Trail’s End Restaurant & Tavern, where the reception took place. I especially loved some of the details below. That cake, as well as the table number place cards showing each of them at their respective age, instead of just plain numbers!

The speeches and toasts were great. My favorite had to be Paul’s brother Justin, who finally came clean that it was him, and not Paul, who burned down their barn when they were kids! During the after party once our coverage ended, we spent some time talking and got to hear the full story.

The ring bearer, Forest, happened to have his 1st Birthday on the same day, so they took some time out to celebrate him! Forest seemed slightly confused and overwhelmed at the attention as all the guests sang happy birthday to him. He did seem to enjoy the cupcake though!
