Samuel Wilde Memorial Chapel Elopement | Portland, ME Wedding Photographer

I had a lovely time from our first conversation speaking with the bride about her elopement plans, and was so looking forward to this day! They met by chance in their apartment complex where they both live. After connecting, they were just friends and not looking for anything more, but that quickly changed. A few years later and here they were having a intimate wedding in downtown Portland, Maine. Two of their good friends joined them for the trip to celebrate and act as their witnesses as well! While the day turned out rainy, that didn’t even remotely spoil the joy, or the photos! The Samuel Wilde Memorial Chapel is a beautiful little location that served as the perfect backdrop for some amazing photo opportunities! I hope you enjoy these photos as much as I enjoyed capturing them!

Not to my surprise, Kathleen walked into the chapel for the first time absolutely beaming and excited!

It’s rare that I both have so much time to get creative with portraits and am stuck inside due to the weather. I love all of the more creative and classic looking portraits we captured in the amazing place!

After finishing up at the chapel, we headed downtown to Blyth & Burrows for some final shots and I enthusiastically joined them in celebrating for a bit with an always exceptional glass of Lagavulin!

Chris + Michelle | Point Lookout Wedding | Northport, Maine Photographer

Frankly, it’s impossible to try and compact this party of a wedding in a single blog post - it would never load! There are so many photos, you’ll have to head over to the proofing gallery as these highlights hardly touch the surface. This whole day was a blast from start to finish, and I was glad to be there for it! Chris and Michelle are easy going, fun, and well loved if you judge by the company they keep. To have such a large wedding party that gets along so well, you know what ties them together are these two. Ahead, you’ll find lots of laughter, love, and good times. Again, I had so much fun capturing this day, and I hope you enjoying reliving the day through some of the images below!

During the getting ready, the girls had these cutouts of Michelle as a kid, and I told her she had to use it for the first look! haha

While a really really ridiculously huge wedding party is not something I would normally recommend, this party was a riot! Just in case the photos and outtakes don’t make it obvious haha.

While everyone transitioned to the Pavilion for the reception, we ran down to the beach for some quick portraits around sunset! And check out that full moonrise as well!

The speeches and toasts were among the funniest I have heard in a while, but also the most brutal! Michelle’s friends took the opportunity to go ahead and give her a full on ROAST of embarrassing stories. Clearly it was taken in stride, but wow, haha!

They also took time to recognize Michelle’s grandfather, who had recently celebrated his 100th birthday!!!

With the formalities finished, it was time to party! I was glad to work alongside The Bob Charest band for one last hurrah, as they’ll sadly be calling it quits for other ventures after this wedding season.
