Bill + Sarah | Ferry Beach House | Prout's Neck Wedding Photographer

From my first conversations with Bill and Sarah, I knew I was going to love this wedding! I had the opportunity to meet up with them the month before and we had some great conversation over a beer at Rising Tide Brewery in Portland, Maine. We talked life, travel plans, and the details of their laid back and intimate wedding plans. The idea was to have a simple and memorable event with just a couple dozen friends and family there to celebrate their marriage. They found a great little house near Ferry Beach, with a gorgeous lawn and barn right on site! It turned out to be a beautiful day, with children happily running around the property all afternoon.  A special part of this wedding was all of the handmade items and the work that everyone put into the details of the day! I'm honored to have been chosen to capture this special occasion, and I hope you enjoy reliving the day through the photos and stories that follow!

This first look between Sarah and her father was such a wonderful moment! It's always great when dad gets his own first look, and it's always a touching, emotional time.

At one point during the ceremony, the rings were passed around for everyone to give a special blessing or prayer for the couple.

Bill and Sarah chose to incorporate a Native American wedding tradition with the blanket ceremony. If I recall correctly, it is provided by family and represents the couple's oneness and commitment from this point on.

After dinner, everyone was invited to walk down to the beach to skip rocks in the water. We also took this opportunity to take advantage of the beautiful sunset that evening!

Jake + Amelia | South Thomaston Maine Wedding Photographer

I'm used to a lot of traveling for weddings but, lucky for me, Jake and Amelia's wedding was only a few blocks from home! I met them last year for their engagement shoot and have been looking forward to their wedding ever since. The plan was to have a simple and laid back party with friends and family, which is exactly what they did! It was a lively party and a busy scene from the moment I showed up, with Amelia still doing a lot of the hands on decorating. It's also rare to see the bride doing others' makeup haha! This was for sure a fun day and I'm so glad to have been invited to be a part of it. I hope you have as much fun looking through the photos as I did capturing them!

Baby Harper would certainly steal the show at times. She was slightly apprehensive when I first arrived, but warmed up fast. In fact, once it was decided I was ok, her gaze would follow me wherever I went, which made for some adorable shots!

The plan was for Harper to be pulled down the Aisle for the ceremony in a wagon, but she was fussiest leading up to that point! Amelia sprang into "mom mode" before the ceremony to comfort her and calm her down. It wasn't looking hopeful that she would want to participate, but dad insisted that his daughter came down the aisle as planned. Thankfully after a little rest, she did indeed make it down the aisle, which was so cute!
