I couldn't have asked for a better couple than Matt and Ashley to kick off the wedding season with! They are fun, outgoing, sweet, and have such a special bond that made them so easy to photograph. A love that started after meeting online and took off, its clear these two are meant to be! Going through the photos to make this blog post, I couldn't help but constantly smile or laugh at all the smiles and laughter we captured that day. Speaking of the day, it was a fresh and windy May afternoon at the Nonantum Resort in Kennebunkport, ME. Perhaps a hair cold, but I'm happy to have that over a hot summer wedding! There was some rainy weather on the surrounding days, but the skies were bright and clear for wedding day. Matt and Ashley were truly a treasure to work with, and I hope you love reliving the day looking through this blog post. Thanks so much for coming!

After the first look, we darted down the road quickly to the Breakwater at Kennebunkport beach for some breathtaking views! I'm so glad we rushed down there for a few shots right before the ceremony. Just look at the wind blowing the veil!
One of the flower girls felt the need for a quick plunge in the no doubt cold water less than an hour before getting into her dress!
The Nonantum has a wonderful getting ready room for brides to use! It's large and spacious with plenty of light, which is something no photographer would complain about!
Everyone is finally ready and Ashley walks out to meet her groom to be for the first look on the docks!
I love this black and white shot of Ashley walking to Matt!
I had some fresh Holy Donuts from that morning, which made for a great quick pre-ceremony snack! If you've never heard of or tasted a Holy Donut, then you are seriously missing out. They are the most amazing and moist donuts you will ever have, made from Maine mashed potatoes and fresh local ingredients! GO FIND SOME!
Certainly couldn't have had clearer skies! The back lawn of the Nonantum Resort is great view for an outdoor wedding ceremony.
Plenty of goofing off at this wedding, just the way we like it! haha
Lucky guy right there!
"Bread and salt blessing"
Matt and Ashley incorporated a Polish wedding tradition as part of their festivities. The couple is presented with wine, bread, salt, and silver coins. The bread is considered a gift from God and that they may never go hungry. The wine is to signify the sweetness in life that they will experience together. The pinch of salt is to signify overcoming the bitterness in life. The silver coins are a financial blessing to wish them a life of wealth and good health together.

One of the cutest cake Toppers!
We finished off the night by coming up with a few creative shots using the old elevator in the lobby and the trees out in front of the venue. Ashley mentioned that she had to have some photos in the old elevator, and rightfully so, it's so cool! We set up some romantic shots and lit the scene with some off camera flash(our specialty). The trees out front I knew would provide some beautiful bokeh, and that certainly didn't disappoint either. As a friend said, it resembles a fire behind them! I love how the photos in both scenes turned out!
Thank you Matt and Ashley!
