While the weather may not have been the thing that dreams are made of, nothing could fully dampen the joy of their wedding day. For our initial consult, we met up and I enjoyed spending time hearing about their backgrounds, where they’ve been, and how they met. Jordan and Marissa are both local to the area, and met while working together at the now closed Cappy’s Restaurant in Camden. As I recall hearing mentioned during the reception, it was those blue eyes of hers which caught his attention. Their wedding day may have been rainy outside, but it was full of love and memories inside! I hope you enjoy reliving some of those below, and thanks for coming!

Getting Ready
Neither bride nor groom opted to go the traditional route of having a wedding party, but Marissa still had company in the form of close friends and family! Certainly a very relaxing way to prepare for your wedding day. Once they were ready, they shared a first look privately, followed by family formals before the ceremony. This enabled them to spend the full cocktail hour with their guests. Always a plus!
After signing the Ketubah, which is a traditional Jewish marriage contract, it was time for the ceremony. What a beautiful piece to display!
Some would prefer to slouch and pick their nose rather engage with other guests…haha
With the non-stop rain that day, we had to take any opportunity we had to get something creative for portraits inside!
Reception
As cocktail hour ended, everyone made their way down to the pavilion on the lower property, where the reception would be held. For their intro, a video was shared from their engagement. Jordan is a Yankees fan and Marissa a Red Sox fan, which by some standards means they shouldn’t even be friends. Of course this is not the case and he even proposed during a Red Sox game at Fenway! As mentioned, the crowd wasn’t entirely sure how to react haha!
I photograph A LOT of wedding bands. I get to see some really unique and beautiful bands, some with more story than others. This was a particularly neat one to me. Jordan is a master goldsmith, who studied in Germany as well as apprenticing for some world renowned goldsmiths. We had a great chat about his background in this during one of our preliminary meetings, and these are some of his creations! Both the engagement band (WOW) and Jordan and Marissa's wedding bands were hand crated by Jordan. When I took their bands for these pictures, I noticed that there was something extra "real and solid" about them that's hard to explain without holding them. Some impressive art! I encourage you to check out his business Jordan Adam Designs if you're in the market for some custom work. I also wanted to share what he posted about the wedding bands before their wedding...
"At the end of a Jewish wedding ceremony, a glass is broken to represent many things; the falling of the ancient temple, the fragility of the glass suggests the frailty of human relationships. Since even the strongest love is subject to disintegration, the glass is broken as a kind of incantation: "As this glass shatters, so may our marriage never break"
“The casting of our wedding bands was truly unique. Something happened to me that has never happened in my 2 decades of metalsmithing; the mold cracked. I was worried that this imperfection had ruined the whole casting. To my surprise, this was the most flawless casting I have EVER performed. I take this as a blessing, and am thrilled at the symbols of our undying love. Thank you all for being a part of this new and wonderful adventure!"
Kids are always the first to jump on the dance floor!
Why have a wedding cake when you can instead have a sundae bar!!!
The opportunity for the rain to stop and grant us some outdoor photos never happened. I had an idea though, and I’m so happy they were up for it, because these are some of my favorites of the day! After which, they went in for the Hora, one of my favorite traditions to photograph!
And with that, it was time to party!!!
Thank you Jordan and Marissa!
