David + Erin | North Peak Lodge Wedding | Newry, Maine

So good to be back at one of my favorite wedding destinations in Maine! Sunday River and the whole Bethel/Newry area have such beautiful scenery and having your wedding on top of the mountain is a blast! I enjoyed connecting with Dave and Erin when they originally booked and we discussed how much we both enjoy to travel. These two are all about going on adventures together, so what a perfect spot to get hitched, right? We certainly couldn’t have asked for a more comfortable September day, with clear skies and temperature of fall starting to set in. So glad I was chosen to capture this day, and I hope you enjoy reliving it!

North Peak Lodge Wedding Sunset

We started out the day at the covered bride in Newry for the first look and wedding party photos. Dave arrived to help “dress” their dogs for the wedding ceremony.

For groomsmen gifts, the boys were given these awesome custom engraved axes with their names on them. There was one groomsmen though who maybe shouldn’t have been entrusted with sharp objects…haha

Ceremony

After some photos at the Sunday River Bridge, it was time to jump on the chairlifts for a ride up to the North Peak Lodge , where the guests were waiting! Dave and Erin opted to write their own vows, bringing both tears and laughter to those witnessing. Dave’s vows “a.k.a rules” were a particularly amusing touch!

Reception

After enjoying cocktail hour and a few last sunset shots with those amazing views, it was time to head in for the intros and first dance. Dave and Erin clearly had put some work into a rather elegant first dance!

Jeeno + Alicia | Maine Lakeside Cabins Wedding | Caratunk, Maine Wedding Photography

This was my first time at the Maine Lakeside Cabins, which is basically waaayyyy out there in Caratunk. Where's Caratunk, ME you ask? Exactly.  This is a super fun location though, and was complimented by the perfect fun couple! Jeeno and Alicia are easy going and fun. While Alicia grew up in Presque Isle, Jeeno is originally from Belarus - they now reside in Texas together. Their plans were to have a fun wedding weekend with everyone there to relax and get to know each other - many of their family members and guests would be meeting for the first time! Even though some of them were not able to arrive until late the day before, all of Jeeno's family made it safely to the states. It was a unique (and really cool) experience to be around multiple languages for the day, with the ceremony being translated into Russian as well. While I am not the biggest fan of long drives, I was certainly a fan on spending the day with these two awesome people. So many funny stories to tell from the day, but something that I got a kick out were the signature cocktails. It's a common thing for the happy couple to have unique signature cocktails. I noticed that while Alicia's was a bit more complex, Jeeno's was "Scotch....with water". As a scotch man myself, I laughed the moment I saw it and Alicia said then when she inquired, he said "Scotch". She replied, "Is that all?", and he responded, "....uhh with water?". Haha. I had so much fun capturing this special day and I hope you enjoy looking through and reading the stories that follow. Thanks so much for coming!

This day was full of laughs, but one of the funniest parts for me was Jeeno's smile. To be more specific, the "American Smile". Jeeno and the rest of the boys from Belarus had a specific "American Smile" to show for the camera. On cue, they would give a very "teethy" smile (Picture someone saying "cheese!" rather exuberantly). It's hard to convey how hilarious it was, and pictures don't fully do it justice. Just in case you find the smiles in some pictures a bit forced, they intentionally are! haha

One of the themes for the day was the inclusion of the Alabama Roll Tide flag. The Belarusians were big Alabama football fans! Yes, you are reading that right! Another funny story is that when Jeeno was asked by the tailor what he would like monogrammed in his suit, he requested it be "Roll tide". You can see that in the following pictures. haha
