Scott + Claire | Migis Lodge Wedding | Sebago Lake Photographer

It’s hard to think of a more beautiful place to have your wedding than on a lake in Maine as the leaves change. Migis Lodge on Sebago Lake is a one of a kind place that holds an extra special place in Claire’s heart as she has been visiting here every year since she was born. As her sister mentioned, she wouldn’t have dared have her own wedding there, because this was Claire’s favorite place on earth. Now that place is extra special for both Claire and Scott. I had such a great time wandering the grounds with them a few months before for their engagement shoot, so it came as no suprise that this was a fantastic day. Not to mention, could you have asked for a more perfect day out?! Absolutely not. I’m excited to share these photos from their perfect day, and hope that you enjoy reliving it as well!

Getting Ready

Nestled throughout the woods of Migis are these cozy little cottages and this is where the soon to be newly weds were getting ready for the day ahead. Without opting for traditional wedding parties, they enjoyed the company of friends who would filter in and out throughout the morning. What a relaxing way to start off your wedding day!

After some emotional first looks with her family, it was time to take a trip down the path for Scott and Claire’s first look together, followed by the Ketuba signing.

Ceremony

After some family formals, it was time for Claire to board the Tykona II that would take her to the ceremony site along the waterfront! What a cool way to make an entrance.

After the ceremony, Scott and Claire escaped onto the boat for a private ride around Sebago Lake. What a wonderful way to steal a few private minutes on your wedding day!

At the end of Cocktail, we went off for a few quick portraits at sunset. Always the right decision!

Reception

It was time to head in for dinner and dancing! Scott and Claire shared their first dance with the musical accompaniment of the Groovin’ You Band.

After the dances, it was time for the speeches! One thing we learned was that back in the day, Scott and his brother could polish off 3 pizza’s on their own. Impressive haha!

We snuck out for one last portrait since the stars had aligned perfectly!

Now it was time to party, and what a great party it was!

Joe + Katie | Thompsons Point Wedding | Portland, Maine Photographer

Not everyone plans their coastal Maine wedding in November, but Joey and Katie did! In a year that was full of some crazy weather, it proved to be no different for them. Thankfully, it was reasonably warm and the rains cleared off for a few outdoor photos, but WOW, that wind was crazy! Everything about this day was both beautiful and fun, and it was also a perfect way to end my wedding season. I’m thankful they chose me to capture their big day, and hope that you enjoying reliving the day through the photos and stories that follow. Thanks for coming, and cheers!

The ceremony was held at this beautiful church in Falmouth, The Episcopal Church of Saint Mary. Its stone architecture, made for a perfect backdrop!

For the wedding party photos, we jumped outside once the rain started to clear up. It was cold and REALLY WINDY, but that also made for this perfect photo of Joey and Katie walking together surround by blowing leaves!

Before the official cocktail hour and reception, it was time to stop off at their favorite brewery together (Bissell Brothers) for a pint and a few snaps!

The reception was held at Brick South, which is a really cool industrial event space also located on Thompsons Point, just across from the brewery!

A really unique and cool aspect of the reception was the lack of traditional toasts by friends. Instead, stories and toasts were written out and placed around everywhere. Very cool!

A good old fashioned wedding cake to the face!

Among my favorites memories of the day was this next moment. For their wedding cake topper, Katie borrowed her grandparents one that was used on their cake 60 years ago! It was especially sweet to see the grandparents invited to come up and cut the cake as well -60 years after they first did!

With the formalities complete, it was time to get back to the party and Danny of Northeast Event Design got the floor moving!
